Thistlefield & Bloom began with a simple love for handmade things, natural ingredients, and the quiet beauty found in the world around us.
I've always believed there's something special about slowing down and taking the time to make something with your own two hands. Whether it's the comforting scent of fresh lavender, the richness of beautifully rendered tallow, or the simple pleasure of a handmade bar of soap, it's often the little things that bring the most joy.
Here in London, Ontario, surrounded by the changing seasons, wildflowers, gardens, and woodlands, I found the inspiration to create something of my own.
And so, Thistlefield & Bloom came to life.
What began as a creative passion has grown into a small family endeavour. While I'm the heart behind the recipes and creations, my family lends their helping hands along the way, sharing in the making, preparing, and bringing each little creation to life. There's something especially meaningful about creating things together, and their love and support are woven into everything we do.
Our collection of handcrafted soaps, body butters, lip balms, candles, and everyday essentials is thoughtfully made in small batches, with carefully selected ingredients and a genuine appreciation for traditional methods of making.
We believe that beautiful selfcare begins with thoughtfully chosen ingredients. We sourced our suet, prioritizing hormone free and grass fed cattle. Then our family carefully renders it at least three times before adding it to our tallow based products.
It's a slow, traditional process that transforms a simple ingredient into the rich, creamy tallow used in our handcrafted soaps, body butters, and balms.
For us, there's something especially meaningful about knowing where our ingredients come from and preparing them ourselves, with patience, care, and a little old-fashioned know-how.
Behind every product is time spent experimenting, learning, perfecting recipes, and occasionally making quite a mess along the way. But that's part of the beauty of handmade things. Every batch has a story, and every creation is something we're proud to share.
